January Days Bring "Math Machines" and Lizard On A Rock

Some of our students have been so obsessed with math activities that they've nicknamed themselves "Math Machines"!
Ronan proudly poses with his decimal system layout where he counted to 9,999.

Simon explores balance and size with the Tower of cubes.
Carter carefully determines which block to pull next in a rousing game of Jenga. This is a great game for building fine motor skills.
Wylie masterfully transfers colored water using an eye dropper.
Daniel and Casey work on the hundred board and count tiles from one to one hundred.
Leo is having fun playing a matching memory game.
Counting groups of spindles...remember 0 is "the empty set".
Some older children work on writing and reading with Kathy.
 Nothing beats a great story...
Bailey and Daniel team up for more hundred board work...
Auden writes and illustrates a great story...
Adding with beads and drawing with markers...
 More math...Calea counting to 9,999..
More Jenga...talk about strategy, which one should Isabel pull next?
Yoga in pairs, relaxing like a lizard on a rock...ahhhhh.

Sort, Stack, Create...

Visitors from Thailand

The primary classroom has been studying the continent of Asia. Today Aiden and his mom, Thamora, brought in two friends from Thailand. They shared statues, maps, stories, clothing, money, dance, language and so much more.

Cold Days, Busy Hands

Cold, blustery, snowy days don't slow these toddlers down...
