Happy Spring!

We've been taking lots of walks outside looking for signs of Spring. This week the ice on the pond finally melted. We found a pair of mallard ducks enjoying a swim. Not the best picture since the ducks are flying away but the children asked me to post it....
Nothing beats a good foot massage after a tough day...

It's all about balance...

Maple Moon

The full moon on March 10th is known as the Maple Moon.
We have tapped our trees and are collecting sap.
It flows best on warm days following a cool night.
The sweet water we are collecting will be boiled down into a rich syrup.
The temporary plywood structure in the front of the school near the trees is our "sugar shack" where all the magic will happen.

March...Comes In Like A Lion

We are discussing and observing the signs of Spring. At the beginning of the month we polled the class on their opinion of early March weather...18 said it came in like a lion while 6 felt it came in like a lamb. We are waiting to see how March will end .
